WATCH VETERAN’S RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY ON HOLLISTON CABLE ACCESS TV

Holliston Cable Access Television recently videotaped the Grand Opening ceremony of the new Veterans Community Access Point which is located at the Holliston Parks & Recreation Department at 1750 Washington Street in Holliston. The center will offer accessability and convenience for local veterans from Holliston and the Greater Metrowest Region of Massachusetts.

The center will offer many services including information and referrals for substance abuse treatment and information for claims and benefits. Among the guest speakers were Francisco Urena, Director of Central Mass Veteran’s Health services, former Holliston resident John Collins who is a veteran and the Medical Center Director for central Massachusetts and State Representative Carolyn Dykema.

Veteran’s Centers are part of a nation wide program administered by the U.S. Department of Veteran’s Affairs to provide readjustment counseling, military sexual trauma counseling, bereavement counseling for veterans and their loved ones.

The ribbon cutting ceremony will also be featured as a segment on an upcoming edition of “Heartbeat of Holliston”, HCAT’s news magazine show.
