Maria Salomao-Schmidt's book signing at Fiskes

Feeling stressed? Too busy? Too rushed? No time to take a deep breath?  Did just reading those first four questions mirror your day to day experiences? If so, then perhaps you should make time to read Holliston resident Maria Salomao-Schmidt's book Finally Full of Yourself - Unlocking Your Spiritual DNA.

I attended Maria's book signing at Fiske's on Saturday, January 28th. Accompanying her and acting as photographers, too, were Maria's family - husband Doug and daughters Mia, Olivia, and Bella (pictured above). A number of people attended the event, receiving a signed copy of her book, a hug, and a photograph with the author.

Maria is as positive, energetic, and passionate in person as she is in her book, a book that will make you review and rethink your outlook on your life and yourself. The book is a how-to guide of sorts for how one can view life in a more positive, powerful way. Maria says that,"Negativity is an anchor that weighs you down and a shining object that refocuses our attention on the inauthentic"(72).

Maria talks about the effects of negative thinking as well, mentioning the "stuck point" and the "flow point."  She discusses the "domestication" of ourselves, where we follow the "herd" and fall into the "good girl/boy trap",  and how our lists of of "should dos" and "what ifs" hold us back.  Maria includes exercises throughout the book to help the reader put into practice many of the ideas and philosophies she espouses.

In our rushed and too full lives, where people embed themselves in their mobile devices and rarely make real eye contact with others, this book is both a guide and an affirmation that we are more than automatons at the mercy of forces beyond our control. Get this book. Rediscover yourself. And enjoy the journey.

I went to Maria's book signing in Holliston last Saturday even though I had already bought 3 copies of her book from Amazon for myself and as gift for friends. I wanted to buy another copy of this book for someone else who was meant to read it. Maria signed it for this lucky person. Yesterday afternoon as I was getting ready to leave my office a colleague stopped by to ask me about Maria... she had seen Maria's book introduction postcard at someone's desk... long story short I told her that I had a signed copy of the book for her at home and that she'd have it on Monday!!! When I read the book, it's like listening to Maria in Person. I'm loving it and recommend that everyone buys at least 2 copies, one for themselves and one for a person who is meant to have it. Thank you Maria for writing this book. It helps me to have hope for a better future and reminds me that love will prevail.

Maria "walks the talk" ;) I was blessed enough to take a full day seminar with her and about a 100+ women last year. She is so positive, so full of energy! A pure joy to just absorb her!!! Friends have taken her coaching classes and rave about her as well. She is authentic through and through.
