H.E.F. and Heifer International benefit via face painting, thanks to Fiske’s General Store!

John Paltrinieri of Fiske’s General Store invited local artists Madeline and Samantha Tate to face paint for charity during the Holiday Stroll this year. Fiske’s donated $150 towards a charity of the girls' choice, in exchange for having them face paint in Upper Town Hall during the Stroll from 12 to 5pm.

In order to attract customers, Madeline transformed into Queen Elsa and Samantha into Princess Anna of Disney’s “Frozen” fame, and painted faces for donations. The friendly snowman from Frozen, “Olaf”, made a guest appearance at Upper Town Hall, and the table was so popular that children had to be turned away in order for the girls to get lunch from Chris at the Holliston Superette. Regardless of the extended lunch break due to photo requests on the street, Queen Elsa and Princess Anna raised a total of $500 by the end of the day.

John of Fiske’s invited the girls to choose their own charity, so the girls decided to split the money in half. In light of generous scholarships she received upon graduating this spring, Samantha donated her $250.00 to the Holliston Education Foundation. Madeline decided to gift a water buffalo, which costs $250.00, through Heifer International. She donated the money on Tuesday, November 29th,  and Heifer matched her donation, so that two water buffalos were purchased for those in need.

Madeline and Samantha Tate are available for face painting and can be reached at 508-893-0945. You might see them face painting for charity again at the upcoming Holliston Spring Stroll!
