On Wednesday July 27, 2016 at 8:54am the Holliston Police were dispatched to an armed robbery in progress at the Holliston Superette located at 777 Washington Street. The initial report was that a firearm had been shown and that the owner of the business had struggled with the suspect, and then chased him across Washington Street onto Central Street. Holliston Officers along with officers from the neighboring towns of Ashland, Sherborn, Medway, and Hopkinton began an intensive search of the businesses and residential areas in the vicinity of Central Street. After approximately 20 minutes a suspect was located, and after a brief foot chase, was arrested. The suspect was identified as David W. Bombard (age 47) of Framingham, Massachusetts. He will be charged as follows;

Armed Robbery while Masked

Larceny over $250

Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon

Assault and Battery on a Police Officer (2 counts)

Resisting Arrest

Bombard is currently being held by in the Holliston Police Lockup. He will be transported to the Framingham District Court for arraignment later this afternoon.

Subsequent to Bombard being apprehended a K9 search was conducted of the area for the firearm that was originally reported.  Holliston’s Sergeant Matt Stone and K9 Cesh were able to locate an air soft pistol that had been hidden in the general area of where Bombard had originally fled.

It should be noted that the mutual aid sent by Ashland, Sherborn, Medway, and Hopkinton, along with the information and direction of the suspects travel by residents in town, conveyed to our responding officers, was instrumental in the capture of this individual.

ALL SUSPECTS ARE PRESUMED INNOCENT UNLESS AND UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY IN A COURT OF LAW
