On Wednesday night, the Board of Selectmen, minus Kevin Conley, met with members of both the Golf Course Advisory Committee and the Agricultural Commission to hear updates on the two boards’ ongoing projects. Deborah Moore of the GCAC stated that the Pinecrest Golf Club has been successful and busy recently. A new aerator has been installed in the club’s main pond in an effort to reduce algae levels and they plan to discuss the renewal of their contract with Johnson Management.

With the success of the many tournaments that the club has held (the most recent being the Holliston Police Department Scholarship Tournament) the GCAC is turning its focus towards increasing revenue through a number of different ways, one of which includes possibly offering membership specials for Holliston residents.

At the advisement of Justin Brown and Helen MacArthur, the two members of the Agricultural Commission, the Selectmen voted to reinstate Patrick Kilkelly to the commission so that the board may meet its quorum requirements and start to meet officially. While no official objectives have been made, Mr. Brown stated that the community garden and butterfly aviary are two projects that the commission would like to continue to focus on. He also extended his welcome to anyone who would like to join the commission.

The Selectmen also approved a transfer of $17,600 to the Holliston Police Department for the wages of 19 positions as well as a Chapter 90 reimbursement request for a $500,000 paving project which included repaving roads such as Adams Street, Chamberlain Street and Marshall Street. The Board decided to postpone their discussion of goals and objectives until next meeting when Mr. Conley has returned.
