For just $20, Holliston residents and friends can buy a shot at winning premium tickets to see all four of Boston’s major pro sports teams, while also helping preserve an important piece of local history.

The raffle winner will receive two tickets to four games of their choice (regular season only) played by each of Boston’s best: The New England Patriots, the Boston Red Sox, the Boston Bruins, and the Boston Celtics. That’s eight tickets total, with the dates to be chosen by the winner. Raffle tickets -- one for $20 or six for $100 – can be purchased at Fiske’s General Store (776 Washington St, Holliston) or by contacting Jack Connors at jackconnors@gmail.com.

The drawing will be held June 30, and you don’t need to be present to win.

About the bridge

The 8-Arch Bridge, formally known as the Bogastow Brook Viaduct, was built in 1846, and has received little maintenance over the last 170 years. In October of 2014, Preservation Massachusetts (preservationmass.org) recognized the bridge as one of the state’s “Most Endangered Historic Resources.”Irish immigrants, working for the Boston and Worcester Railroad, built the section of track to Milford. While some workers spent a year cutting through the hill at Highland Street and chiseling stone, others took jobs in factories -- fueling local industry and forever transforming the town’s character.
