Intro to Horsemanship at October Farm

In this introductory class students will be involved in all aspects of horse handling and horse care along with an introduction to horseback riding. This program will also cover how to safely work with horses including leading, grooming, tacking, untacking, feeding, basic equine first aid and stall cleaning.

Session 1: Tues Jul 19—Fri Jul 22 Session 2: Tues Aug 2—Fri Aug 5

Who: ages 8 & up Time: 9:00-12:00noon

Adult Intro to Horses at October Farm

This special class is for adults who have always wanted to be around horses and for parents of kids who ride or have a horse and would like to become more knowledgeable and confident. We will cover horse handling, tacking, untacking, horse care, and what’s involved in buying/owning a horse. This is NOT a riding class

Who: Adults When: Saturdays May 7, 14, 21 & 28

Summer Tennis!

Coach Lyn Calkins will return again this summer to offer tennis instruction for beginner thru intermediate players ages 5 thru 15 years.

Mini Lobbers Ages 5-7 years Time: 8:30-9:30 Cost: $60

Top Spinners Ages 8-10 years Time: 9:30-11:00 Cost: $90

Aces Ages 11-15 years Time: 11:00-1:00 Cost: $120

Mosaics Summer Fun!

This special summer mosaic program is for students of all levels. If you have taken Beginner Mosaics or Mosaics ll with Mrs. Cohen in the past, here is your opportunity to let your creativity flourish with a more advanced project. If you are a beginner, you will start with the basics and learn by creating your choice of a coaster, light switch cover, frame or pendant. Instructor: Cheryl Cohen

 123… Dance, Music & Me!

Feel the rhythm with us this summer and join our favorite music teacher, Viviana Vilches and dance instructor Angela Castrillo for an exciting new music and movement “drop-off” program. Students be introduced to jazz dance, percussion instruments, musical theory and participate in a rhythm band!

Get It Done: The College Essay Writing Workshop for Rising High School Juniors

Students call it the most stressful part of the college application process—the personal essay. The best time to write your essay is during summer break when you have time to focus without being distracted by school activities and obligations. Join us this summer as Joanne Clary Apesos, an independent college counselor and owner of College Pursuits, is offering a three hour essay writing workshop to get you started!
