It’s Time to Change the Massachusetts Lambscape

by Marty Lamb
2/27/2016

It’s time to change the Massachusetts ‘lambscape’ by electing more Republicans.  We need balance at the State House.

Every four years Republicans elect the 80 member State Committee that governs the Massachusetts Republican Party.  You get the choice on March 1st.

I’m running to make a positive difference.  In 2013 I was the Co-Chairman of the successful effort to repeal automatic gas tax hikes.  We built a statewide grassroots effort to collect 146,000 signatures to get on the ballot.  We were one of only three campaigns nationwide to do a ballot question only using volunteers.

Not only did our efforts save taxpayers from automatic gas tax hikes, but we also held Democrats accountable for their votes.  As you know they passed the tax increase in an off election year in the hopes voters would forget.

This taxation issue became the pivotal issue in the race for Governor.  Martha Coakley supported increasing the gas tax despite believing we only pay 10 cents in gas tax.  At our victory party, Charlie Baker said it was the major reason why he won!

I’m not going to rest on my accomplishments.  I want to build on them.  As your next Republican State Committeeman, I’m committed to:

  • Recruiting more Republicans to run for legislative offices.  Voters need to have a choice.
  • Reinstating the charter for the Massachusetts Federation of Republican Women that was unfairly revoked.  We need more outreach groups, not less.
  • Fighting illegal immigration.  I believe that we need to stop Massachusetts from being a magnet state.
  • Helping candidates raise money to run a competitive race.
  • Keeping caucus votes in the hands of the people rather than the party’s bosses.

If you want a more vibrant Republican Party, I would be honored to have your vote.  Remember, Marty Lamb for Republican State Committee.

Candidate for Republican State Committee, Second Middlesex & Norfolk District

Holliston, MA …Today Marty Lamb, candidate for Republican State Committee, announced that the Massachusetts Republican Assembly (MARA) has endorsed his candidacy.

“We are extremely pleased to endorse Marty Lamb for State Committee.  He will work to elect Republicans and end this go along to get along backroom deal culture,” said Mary Lou Daxland, President of MARA.  “We worked with Marty on the successful effort to stop automatic gas tax hikes.  He is a true grassroots leader.  Due to his efforts, we collected 146,000 signatures to get the initiative on the ballot.  Lamb was one of only a few who had the courage to take on the establishment.  He saved us $2 billion in new taxes.  Furthermore, he kept the issue front and center during the election year.  He did not allow Democrats to hide from their vote.”

“I am pleased that the Massachusetts Republican Assembly is supporting my bid for the State Committee.  They are the heart and soul of the Republican grassroots movement.  They know that a party should be about the people, not just the donors,” said Lamb.

Lamb has made his campaign about best representing the people of this district.  He wants to re-instate the Federation of Republican Women’s charter and encourage more outreach.  He supports electing delegates at caucuses, not having the hierarchy appoint them.

Lamb wants to rebuild the party by registering more Republicans and run more candidates for legislative office.  He believes competition is a good thing.

Lamb is the only candidate who has put out a positive plan for what he will do as the next Republican State committeeman.

“You need to have a positive vision for the future.  Without it our party is doomed to continue to be the minority party only winning a few seats.  I believe in a vibrant Republican party,” added Lamb.

Lamb was also a leader in the successful effort to prohibit tax dollars for the Olympics.  Due to Lamb’s willingness to step forward again, the plans for the Boston Olympics were dropped saving taxpayers tens of billions of dollars.

Lamb is endorsed by State Representative Geoff Diehl, Celeste Wilson, the former President of the Massachusetts Federation of Republican Women, and so many more grassroots activists.

Republican State Committee members are elected in March during the presidential primary.  There are 2 members elected from each Senatorial district for the 80 member board that governs the GOP within Massachusetts.

In 2013 and 2014, I put in thousands and thousands of hours as the Statewide Campaign Manager to pass the ballot question to stop automatic gas tax hikes. I am the person who organized all the volunteers and worked directly with them through two signatures drives and an aggressive campaign field operation over 18 months. I find it offensive that Mr. McGrath and his team have tried to imply he was part of that effort. He had no part in it. He showed up at one event when Charlie Baker was speaking. Marty Lamb has put in the long hours to make a real difference. He gave up 2 years of his life to work on this ballot question. For those of us who were really involved, everyone knows the hours Marty Lamb worked were tremendously long and hard. He has the respect and gratitude of thousands of volunteers and supporters statewide, and this is one of many reasons why Marty Lamb has such strong grassroots support in his election for Republican State Committee. The grassroots is what counts the most. Marty does not rest on his accomplishments. When the Beacon Hill power structure tried to force us to pay for the Boston Olympics, Marty stepped forward once again willing to do another ballot question. Due to his willingness and work to stop this, taxpayers were not buried with a $10 billion bill for the Olympics. Very few people in America can say they have saved taxpayers $12 billion. Marty Lamb never asks anything for himself. He just cares. Thousands of us statewide in the grassroots are asking you to vote for the man we know we can count on, the man with the visible superior track record of accomplishment, who has truly demonstrated through actions and deeds that he makes a real difference and works for we the people. We all say, please vote for Marty Lamb for Republican State Committee in the Second Middlesex & Norfolk district, towns of Natick, Holliston, Hopkinton, Ashland, Franklin, Medway, and Framingham.
