Community Preservation Committee Accepting Grant Applications

Holliston’s Community Preservation Committee is currently accepting funding applications for approval at May Town Meeting.  The Committee will be accepting applications through Wednesday, February 17th.

Community Preservation funds may be used to acquire and preserve open space (including recreational space) support qualified affordable housing initiatives and fund historic preservation efforts.  Funding comes from a combination of property taxes and State matching funds.  Since adopting CPA in 2002, Holliston has used CPA funds to permanently protect more than 300 acres of open space including a major section of the rail trail; contribute to the development of over 35 units of affordable housing for local families; assist with the rehabilitation of the Placentino School and Stoddard Park playgrounds and recreational facilities at Goodwill Park; and digitize and preserve for future generations historic town records dating back to the town’s founding in 1724.

If you have a project you would like to have considered, or would just like to learn more, please plan to attend one of our meetings.  Our next scheduled meeting will be Wednesday, February 3rd at 7:30 at Town Hall.  Or visit our web site, http://www.townofholliston.us/community-preservation-committee for more information.
