No Parking Ban Enforcement

by Sgt. Matthew Waugh
10/30/2015

No Parking Ban Enforcement:  The town wide winter parking ban goes into effect at midnight on November 1, 2015 and remains in effect until March 31, 2016.  In an effort to work with the residents of Holliston the ban will be enforced if there is a forecast of inclement weather or actual inclement weather, which includes any precipitation.  Should inclement weather be forecasted or occurring, residents will have to have all vehicles off the road or be subject to ticketing or towing.  Thank you for your cooperation and have a safe and enjoyable winter season.

Mark, yes, as long as the roads have been cleared and treatment is no longer needed. The original purpose of the ban is to make sure parked cars do NOT interfere with the Public Works efforts to make the roads safe. This is the first year we have changed the enforcement. Thank you.

Mark, Did you means to write "easier" rather than "harder"

Not sure if this is the first year where it'll only be enforced when necessary, maybe I just missed it before. In any case, thank you to HPD for that - I'm sure this will make their lives harder. A question about the policy though, when there is already snow down and has been plowed, is it ok to part in the street overnight?
