Our first program of the 2015-16 season will focus on Holliston History, as well as history that ties us to surrounding towns. More interesting stories will come to light as we look through historical resources, never ceasing to be amazed at what is found. Some of the histories we will visit include:

Holliston and Medway--we share a lot of history. In the future we hope to have the Medway Historical Society here for a joint meeting to investigate our shared past. Until then, let’s focus on what we have in common.

There is a project ongoing about Holliston’s football history that was inspired by Holliston’s big Super bowl win last December. Hear what researchers have discovered.

Did you know that nearly 500 patents have been awarded to Holliston citizens and companies? See some of them as they were submitted for patents. You will be surprised what local inventors hold patents for.

The Rail Trail has many enthusiasts who walk its length from Framingham to Milford. Holliston has many interesting landmarks along the way. There is a new project to restore and preserve the eight arch bridge. Learn other spots to see if you take a walk along the Trail and learn about its early history.

These are only a few of the bizarre, amusing and interesting stories found when looking at Holliston’s history!
