The Community Preservation Act (CPA) is a way of helping communities preserve open space and historic sites, create affordable housing, and develop outdoor recreational facilities. Over the past year, Holliston has used CPA funds to preserve the former Serocki property on Rogers Road as open space, acquire the section of the rail trail from Cross Street to Hopping Brook Road to add to the town’s recreational resources, help rehabilitate the playground at Stoddard Park and provide funding for affordable housing opportunities through the Housing Trust.  Do you have a project that could benefit from CPA funding?  Go to http://www.communitypreservation.org/content/chart-allowable-uses to see if your project qualifies!

The Community Preservation Committee will be accepting applications through Wednesday, September 30th. Applications can be found on the CPC’s web site at http://www.townofholliston.us/community-preservation-committee. Completed applications can be dropped in the CPC mailbox at Town Hall, or come to our next meeting on the 30th at 7:30 at Town Hall.
