This is the first class in a three-part series introducing you to how maple syrup is made.

In this first class you will learn the following:

- How to identify maple trees suitable for tapping.
- How and when to tap a maple tree.
- What is maple sap and how to handle it.
- What equipment is needed and where to find it.

The class will be held at Maple Arch Farm at 65 Arch St. in Holliston and will mostly be outdoors.

Who should attend this class?
- Anyone who would like to tap maple trees or has an interest in learning where maple syrup comes from.

This class is being held as a fundraiser for the Holliston AgCom (fb.com/HollistonAgCom) to support the farm at 34 Rogers Rd. in Holliston.

If you would like to attend, a tax-free donation of $10 per person should be sent to Tony Lulek, Holliston AgCom, 35 Dalton Road, Holliston, MA 01746. Checks should be made payable to 'Holliston Agricultural Commission' and Tony will also accept Credit Card payments if you contact him directly on Facebook (fb.com/tony.lulek).

All money raised will go directly to the AgCom to support the farm.

The second class will be held in the fall and will cover how to turn maple sap into maple syrup. A third class will be held in April next year to show you what else you can do with maple syrup.
