The Holliston Garden Club announced today that they will host their annual holiday floral design program on Friday, November 7 at 7:30 p.m, at St. Mary's Parish Hall on Elm Street in Holliston. This year’s theme, “Holiday Flowers with Global Appeal," will feature floral designs by Kirsten VanDijk. With a live demonstration of her design talent, she will entertain participants with her creative arrangements for holidays from around the world. As usual, a wide array of hors d'ouevres and desserts, a bountiful gift table, and socializing will round out the evening.

An internationally acclaimed floral designer, she is among only five Americans to win a first place award in the 2011 World Flower Show. She received Best of Week and First Place for her entry in the 2012 Philadelphia Flower Show, and a tree was planted in her honor. In 2008, Kirsten VanDijk was awarded a Gold Medal by the Massachusetts Horticultural Society for her chairmanship of design Division 2 in the final New England Spring Flower Show.

Proceeds from the annual event will benefit the Holliston Garden Club's many civic projects, which include tree and flower plantings throughout the town, programs for children and seniors, and Arbor Day events. The Club also provides scholarships and educational grants to benefit Holliston students.

Tickets for the program are $10 each in advance, and are available for purchase at Coffee Haven, Outpost Farm, Debra's Flowers and Arcadian Farms, or for $12 at the door. In addition, interested parties can mail a self-addressed stamped envelope prior to October 20th with a check for tickets, payable to HGC,  to: HGC Open Meeting, c/o 117 Westfield Drive, Holliston, MA 01746.
