Mount Hollis Lodge of Holliston is inviting all Holliston residents to participate in our inaugural Hit the Trail for Charity on October 12, 2014. It is a 5, 3 and 2 mile family fundraising walk along the Milford Upper Charles Trail.

The walk was conceived by the Roger William Pageau Charitable Foundation Inc. in conjunction with the District Activities Committee of the 15th Masonic District of Massachusetts. Other participating Masonic Lodges are Ashland, Hopkinton, Westboro, Natick, Framingham, Milford, Medway and Marlboro.

This is an opportunity for Holliston residents to raise money for their favorite charity. Holliston charities that that can benefit from this program are; Food Pantry, HHS Music Program, Breast Cancer, Boy and Girl Scout Troops, churches and church groups. There are many worthy charities or groups that could use more donations. The Holliston Rail Trail and the Holliston Masonic Angel Fund are two groups seeking contributors from this endeavor.

If a group is interested in raising money for a specific charity such as the Food Pantry, they register a team with our charity Roger William Pageau Foundation which is a 501 C (3) charity. All monies contributed are available for a qualified tax deduction. We can provide all the tools necessary to assist teams in gathering the contributions that must be submitted at the day of the walk. A portion of the contributions will be extracted for the costs to run the Benefit. Some of our costs are T-shirts, large tent for registration, water, paper supplies, printing, police and etc. It is a large undertaking.

Besides running this for local charities, we are attempting to make people more aware of living a healthier life style. We are hoping whole families will participate and even nice dogs are invited too. Even if you don’t get involved with a team, please come as an individual.
